Introducing Total Meditation

Meditation has been used for thousands of years as a spiritual practice to cultivate inner peace. But today, meditation is just as much scientific and secular as it is spiritual, with numerous research studies revealing how important meditation is for our overall health and well-being.

Continually being stressed is now considered one of the most toxic experiences our mind and body has to deal with. It wrecks havoc on your health from the inside out.

Thanks to growing scientific evidence, we now know that meditation offers measurable benefits - for our physical, emotional and mental well-being. It’s one of the most powerful ways to actually remove stress from our brain and body at the cellular level, to lower anxiety, improve our immune function, cultivate greater creativity, promote better sleep and nurture emotional well-being.

It's for this reason i am committed to teaching various forms of meditation to as many people I can. I’ve been meditating since i was 21 and it’s served me well through my most traumatic experiences, and is my anchor today. Just like with your physical fitness goals though, you want to be consistent with your meditation practice to reap the full benefits. In saying that, you can start with just a few minutes twice a day. Try it for 21 days (that’s what brain science tells us it takes to create a habit!), and notice how you feel (or how others say you are!).:)

Practiced regularly, it continues to get rid of stress from the past. In releasing stress we gain more clarity, more energy, allowing us to open to new insights, intuition and ideas to help us better navigate the challenges and demands of our daily life.

Many top performing business people and high level athletes now practice it regularly to increase performance and productivity.

But perhaps its most important benefit is the valuable opportunity meditation affords us in the midst of our busy lives – to practice silence and self-reflection as a means to journey to the center of our being, to know ourselves better.

In fact, it’s the surest and simplest pathway we can use to discover our fundamental nature, purpose, and essence . . . and gain a deeper grasp of who we are and why we’re here.

Embracing this presence allows fears and anxieties to begin to melt away and empowers you to express your unique talents in your work, your play and relationships in a way that best serves the world.

Primordial Sound Meditation

Primordial Sound Meditation is a meditation technique originating in the ancient wisdom of India. Primordial Sounds—the basic, most essential sounds of nature—are used to help us transcend the activity of life, into stillness. These individually selected sounds, known as mantras (defined as ‘vehicles of the mind’), are based on the vibration of the universe at the moment of your birth.

Once your Primordial Sound mantra has been determined, you will be taught how to use it on a daily basis to reawaken balance, tranquility and compassion within. Your Chopra Center Certified Instructor Trish will help you to integrate this practice into your daily routine.

Experience tells us that the simpler and more natural the meditation style is, the more successfully it fits within a modern lifestyle. It is a transformational daily practice you can do on your own anywhere, anytime. There is no need for apps, drop-ins, or particular settings!

The meditation that works best, that feels easy, and that leaves you feeling peaceful is the one that makes you want to keep going.

This Deepak Chopra’s lead meditation practice has been been taught to hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. It’s an enjoyable daily meditation practice that fits into your life and schedule – so you’ll want to sustain it for years to come. As stress is greatly eliminated through Primordial Sound Meditation, our minds and bodies begin to function with maximum effectiveness, creating health, vitality and happiness.

Use it as a powerful pathway to self-awareness and ultimately to living a more meaningful, fulfilling, and joyful life.

The Primordial Sound Meditation programme includes your own personalised Mantra and a workbook, and is taught in 4-5 x 60-90 min modules or within a day retreat.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the gentle way in which Trish shared her knowledge and carefully explained the philosophies behind the practise. What a real privilege to be given my own individual primordial sound mantra, and to sit with Trish to practise the meditations.  I feel like she’s given me a gift from the universe that I can hold onto that is especially for me. I look forward to being part of other trainings she has”. Jane

Why Meditate?

Neuroscientist Sara Lazar's amazing brain scans show meditation can actually change the size of key regions of our brain, improving our memory and making us more empathetic, compassionate, and resilient under stress. Click to 3.30 mins to hear about it

Here are just some of the compelling reasons why you should give it a go:

Meditation is one of the best tools we have to counter the brain’s negativity bias, release accumulated stress, foster positive experiences and intentions, and enjoy the peace of present moment awareness.

A large body of research has established that having a regular meditation practice produces tangible benefits for mental and physical health, including:

• Meditation triggers our healing soothing response system to release stress and give the body deep, healing rest.

• Decreased blood pressure and hypertension and cholesterol levels

• Reduced production of “stress hormones,” including cortisol and adrenaline

• It’s been proven effective for pain relief and management

• Increased production of the anti-aging hormone DHEA

• Improved immune function

• Deeper more restful and healthy sleep patterns

• Decreased anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

• Cultivates a state of restful alertness and triggers the brain to release neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins (to promote happiness)

• Improves your brain, including your focus, memory, and connections between the hemispheres (strengthening the corpus callosum) promoting greater creative thinking and ability to learn

• Improves emotional intelligence to help you cultivate better relationships

• Connects you to your true self, enables you to listen to your true desires, builds your self-esteem and cultivates less judgment (of yourself and others)

• Enables you to go beyond habitual, conditioned thought patterns into a state of expanded awareness. The mind is in an open, receptive state and is able to receive flashes of insight, intuition and fresh perspectives

Cultivating self knowledge

Many spend most of their lives ‘doing’ - trying to master the outside world to achieve success, to acquire abundance, attain happiness and fulfillment

Meditation is based on the principle as vast as the infinite world outside us is, its equally as vast internally within ourselves

It assists us to turn our attention within to re-discover our True Self, the source of all creativity, love, peace and joy

Meditation for Children

Deepak Chopra talks about the pysiological benefits of meditation, which are scientifically proven. While there are not many studies done on the benefit of meditation for children, there are indications that children, who meditate are less stressed, more focused, sleep better, and meditation enhances their memory and their ability to learn.

We love to teach all ages to meditate including children and teens and tailor our classes to different ages and needs. Please contact us to learn more…
